Senior Year

Fall semester of senior year has come to an end. It has been an eventful semester full of exploration and confirmation on my passions. I experimented with different approaches to my illustrations. Majority of my artwork is cute hyped with bright colors and executed in vectors. This semester, I tried to incorporate a sketch linework quality into the final piece. Lots of trial and errors, I'm not sure if they turned out successful or not.

Above is a snippet of a triptych I did of my three roommates. One of my favorite things to do is sketch portraits. This project was an attempt to make something more of those sketches while including my love for patterns. Below is part of an illustration on Grimm fairy tales. Now that the term is over, I plan on revisiting all these illustrations. I won't give up :)

Overtime, I found myself going back surface pattern design and cute things. I learned to embrace my obsession with color. Below is my senior self portrait, conveying my love for food and cute things. I'm look forward to my final year at Ringling, very excited to produce my senior project.

Summer 2012

Hello! Summer flew by wicked fast and has been very eventful. I had the wonderful opportunity to be a creative intern at David and Goliath, inc. I miss everybody there already. Especially a great friend and talented artist, Erica, here are a few sketches I did of her while I was in Clearwater.

Above is my friend Julianna back from my hometown Naples, FL, she too is an art student. She visited during my last week there, I miss my little beach apartment, it really grew on me.

End of the year Lithography Prints

Time has been flying by wicked fast, I haven't had the chance to post any end of the school work. Below are three lithography prints. I have grown attach to my limestone and will sincerely miss it.
This one is a combination of two printmaking techniques, the pink bunny was applied first as a monotype. Afterwards, an image of grass and flowers was printed from the limestone.

These two prints explore my two separate interest in art. I throughly enjoy drawing people and studying  form, but I also have a passion for bright, colorful cute things.

Mini Plushies

Sew these little guys for a current project I'm working on in my artists books class. The assignment is to have three object/compartments and a book in a clamshell book case. My previous project I ventured patterns, so for this assignment I will do a children's book. The possibilities are endless and can be overwhelming, but I'm very excited about the project. The vegetables and bunny are made out of felt created from 100% recycled plastic water bottles.

Arabshad

A portrait I did for the memory project, her name is Arabshad. I think she has a very pretty face. I hope she smiles when she receives it over the summer. It will be showcased with other students at Ringling who participated in this wonderful project. I will definitely do it again next year. For more information about the memory project, please visit http://www.memoryproject.org/

Moleskin Sketchbook

Yay, finished my sketchbook, it was one of those 200 plus pages Moleskin plain notebooks. The pages were relatively thin, but I don't mind much. One of my favorite things to do is draw from life and portraits

Stuffed Animal Party

Made this little guy this morning for one of Ringling's volunteer programs. The stuffed animals are to be given to children during their birthday month at Sarasota's YMCA Youth Shelter. I'm gonna miss this little guy, he was so much fun to make.

Lithography

I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to learn lithography this semester. The process is very tedious and extensive, but very rewarding. Today I ran my first print and can't wait to do more.

Sketchbook Project Tour 2012

I submitted my sketchbook to Art House Co op, I kinda miss it already, but very excited for the people in different cities across the states to see it. I developed a lot as an artist during the duration of this project. In the beginning I would draw people tiny with a pen. A mechanical pencil was used one evening when I forgot to bring a pen and the outcomes were very satisfying. Here is the website. project http://www.arthousecoop.com/users/torianne00

I love vectors

I absolutely miss my computer Illustration class so much. The last assignment was to do a promotional piece. My concept behind this piece is to make vegetable look awesome and fun to eat. I feel this describes me rather accurately. Bright colors and lots of love and cuteness. Enjoy!
